Relax & Enjoy

The Space
This is a traditionally made Mongolian Yurt imported from Mongolia. There is a double layer of wool as insulation covering the tamarack lattice. Its 20 feet wide and has one window for natural light and one very low light hanging fixture. There is a Norwegian tent stove for supplemental heat.

All open concept, there are two MEC air mattresses to place your bedding on. You have a small set up of yoga mats and back jacks to act as your chesterfield while you unwind and relax. Outside of the yurt is a shared patio space for eating and resting outside.

There is a private outhouse for your stay next to the wood shed. There is NO running water. Drinking water is supplied and you will be required to use a hose to fill buckets for washing dishes. Food must be kept contained and rodent proof at all times. We are one with nature!

You are supplied cast iron cookware to cook upon an open fire or provided a single element burner to cook or boil water with.

Guest Access
Guests will park at the bottom of the driveway and walk up a steep hill to the Yurt. There are gardens to walk around, chickens to laugh at and a 2km steep ridge to walk atop for the experienced hiker.

There is a second Yurt that is blue that operates as my healing lodge and is only accessible for private bookings made separate from your stay.
Guests are highly encouraged to book time in this healing lodge, keep scrolling to see some sample packages that include time for this!

Testimonial

"If I had to describe my stay at the Woodland Escape in just a couple of words, I’d say it was....magical and tranquil experience.

I already knew this stay and experience at Tawny’s would be a special weekend because we were celebrating my best friend's birthday & spending it together and I had the privilege of previously experiencing Tawny’s magic in creating spaces for you to feel held, get curious and reconnect deeply to yourself.

What I got to experience and how the weekend turned out far exceeded even what I had in mind.

The 5 course meal Greg cooked for us over the fire was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The way he transformed familiar ingredients like cauliflower into the most decadent and flavourful bites. My taste buds were wowed!

Being able to stay in an authentic Mongolian yurt was such a unique and cozy space to rest, sleep, meditate, create, connect and do yoga in.

Throughout our stay Tawny checked in on us to make sure we were taken care of, offered us suggestions for a local artist to visit while we were there and a fabulous restaurant suggestion to visit on the way out.

The services we received from Tawny were so nourishing on a whole mind, body and soul level.

The Lomi lomi massage was so relaxing, warming and helped ease the tension in my body. The restorative yoga Tawny led us through was the most calming way to wind down, connect with my body and bring love and care to each of the chakras. The way Tawny weaved together storytelling with the postures sparked my imagination and helped me visualize the chakras and healing in my body. The fact that after the restorative yoga we got to walk just a few steps and get into bed for the night was a sweet bonus. The card reading from Tawny offered me so much insight and inspiration for the current season I am in and I have the notes and recording to come back to as I integrate what I learned from her.

One of the nights we stayed we were treated to the most spectacular surprise and awe-inspiring sight...the starriest sky I've ever seen. Seeing it was a moment of pure wonder....a memory that will stay with me hopefully forever.

I left the Woodland Escape feeling so content, inspired, nurtured and refreshed and I'm already thinking about when I can come back and who I'd like to bring along with me.

Thank you Tawny & Mother Earth for this incredible experience and weekend!
